Brotherly Love

On Friday night, William and I went to a Mark Miller concert at a fellow church member’s home (Thanks Auntie for babysitting).  It was fantastic and we bought the CD!! We listened to Grace upon Grace the entire way back from Sylvester. I have been jamming out to it since!

Monday morning in the car, Thompson started singing part of Jesus Paid It All. “Praise the One, who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead.” Then, Thompson turned to Jonathan and said, "Jon-a-Fin,  Jesus died on the cross for your sins.”

It was one of the sweetest moments I’ve witnessed! Yes, we've told Thompson that many times. Sometimes we tell him when we are playing and sometimes when he is disobeying and we try to explain sin. But, it was precious how Thompon shared the Good News.

One of our prayers is that, our boys would know Jesus, share Jesus, and become dear friends.  This moment was a reminder of Psalm 127:3 “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.”

My sweet boys, I’m blessed to be your Mom! Thank you for reminding me that Jesus died on the cross for our sins! Tullian Tchividjian (who inspired the Mark Miller CD)  says, “ Jesus + Nothing = Everything.”

Jonathan's Birthday Party

It's the big 1!!Jonathan turned one on Sunday. I decided to go with an Elephant themed birthday party because I think they are so cute for little boys. My parents helped us get ready for the big event!
The party was at 5:30pm. We had quesadillas, rice and beans and cake of course! McEntyre's Bakery made the cake to match his John-John! It was so cute and tasted fantastic!
We set up the party in our garage and driveway and just as we were sitting down the rain started to come down so we moved all the tables inside but then it stopped about 5minutes later and we were able to move outside again. I like having it outside so everyone can be in one place. The kids played with cars, bikes, slides and a sand table! We had a fun time and Jonathan enjoyed the food and his cake! Jonathan gave bubbles for his party favor!

Cascio Visit

In February, the Cascios came for a visit! Jay and Kristi are the boys God-parents and their family is so dear to us. They also have adopted our dog, Chapel (now their dog). We love them a ton. Kristi drove Lilly and her friends down for her birthday to go the American Girl Cafe'. I was able to join them and it was so much fun! Lilly is so sweet and Thompson just adores being around his "God-cousin"
Later in the month, Sadie came down for a couple days and stayed with us during her winter break. We went to the aquarium, Children's Museum and many parks! We had a blast with Sadie and I really miss my "helper" and Thompson misses his friend! She was great with Jonathan!

Jonthan 1st flight- A trip to WA

Jonathan went on his first flight ever; we headed to see dear friends of mine from Washington. The flight was crazy! First, there was a snow storm in WA so we weren't sure if the flight would be cancelled. However, we all boarded the flight. Jonathan got his own seat since there were extra on the flight. Then, after everyone was seated they called out that the flight was cancelled. The first available flight was the next day. So, I take my luggage (I carried on because I have a fear of losing luggage and I hate paying to check a bag) to the gate and they tell me to go talk to customer service. I begin to power walk. I get past security and realize I’m missing my rolling bag somewhere. So, I walk up to the first Delta ticket booth. They inform me this line is for pets (no one is in line). I ask them if they could please call the ticket agent and see if I left my bag. They "attempt" to call but got no answer. I truck Jonathan back through security a second time in 2 hours. Then, I race back to the gate and pray my bag is there! It is!! So now, this agent helps me get on my flight the next day. My mom who had come up to keep Thompson drives and picks up from the airport!! I really laughed about the entire episode because it was just so hystircal to travel with a baby!  The next day we wake up and do it all over but this time we actually get to fly to WA! Chris picked us up on Friday and went back to her house. They had the Fridge stocked and Gary prepared us a great sandwich and salad when we got home. We loved being at their home. They even had a crib and a separate room for Jonathan to sleep in! Thank you, Todds for caring for us the way you did!
Friday and Saturday we spent the day with Jennifer and her family! She is like a second mom to me. She was so important when I was out in Washington and my husband was out to sea. There is simply no one like her. It was wonderful to be with her!! Love you, JG!
We headed back to Atlanta on Sunday and as I'm going through security they inform me that my baby food is a safety hazard and they will either have to open each one or search JRM and me. So, we both got the pat down in order to not spoil our baby food.
In all seriousness, it was so special to introduce Jonathan to my dear friends! It did make me think of the many memories we have there and we are looking forward to returning as a family soon!
