3C Expressions, Inc.

Christie Carey is a photographer/graphic designer in Atlanta, GA. She took our family pictures this December. Unfortunately, Thompson was in a terrible mood however she was able to capture some amazing moments. She is very talented, very patient & we highly recommend her:

Christmas 2009

On the 23rd we drove to Rome, GA to spend the night with the Monks. Christmas Eve was spent opening presents, eating a wonderful dinner and enjoying Christmas Carols at their church. Christmas Day we opened presents with my side of the family. I hosted Christmas dinner for the Henrys, Dyers, Hoppop, William & Ben Thompson. We missed our Aunt Laura (she is heroically battling breast cancer) and Uncle Richard (her biggest supporter) but we are making plans for a BIG THOMPSON CLAN Christmas next year. We played charades and poker…it was full of fun family time. Thompson got lots of toys, balls, a wooden table, “Little People Toys” & pajamas and was spoiled by everyone. William and I got some great gifts too…clothes, stationary, blue ray player, and a gorgeous painting from Italy! Thanks to our families who made Christmas so special. Thank you most of all to Jesus and the Salvation He brings!

TWM First Dentist Visit

Happy 15 month Birthday to our baby boy today! We love you!
Thompson went to the Dentist at 6:30pm tonight. The moment our Dentist walked in Thompson started crying. Thompson screamed as his six teeth were brushed and the Dentist told us his molars are coming in. He had a rough Dentist visit even though the staff did everything they could to appease him.
Tooth Brushing is now in full swing twice a day…once with fluoride toothpaste (just a dab) and then once with non-fluoride toothpaste. Before we left Thompson picked out a bouncy ball from the prize box.
Here are pictures before the kicking, crying and screaming:

Mr. and Mrs. McElrath

John and Stacey were married at Sacred Heart Church in Atlanta, GA last night. The Rehearsal Dinner and Reception took place at Capital City Club. The Rehearsal Dinner had great food, slideshows, and decorations.
Celebration is the best way to describe the Reception. The band was fantastic and we had a blast dancing the night away (literally we got home around 1:30). After seeing the bride and groom off, we went to Fellini’s to pick a pizza. The Dyers watched Thompson both nights and even let us sleep late in the mornings…we have it too good. Church was a perfect way to end the weekend (however it did seem to come a little bit earlier today ;) )

Swann Christmas Party

William's Colleague (and friend) Bradford & his wife, Ashley had a Christmas party at their home on Saturday. We had a blast. There was wonderful food, music, and of course drinks. The soon to be McElrath's (getting married tomorrow) are friends with them also. It was a fun way to get into the Christmas Spirit! Sunday, we had St. Paul's Music Festival. Thompson came for the last song and danced on the chairs. He loves to dance with music now!

Cobb's Surprise Party

Last week was full of "couple parties." Thanks to the Dyer's who watched Thompson for us multiple times. Seriously, they are the best! Tuesday, William’s new rotation (he starts in Jan) had their Christmas Party at 103 West. Thursday, Cobb had a surprise party and Fox and Hound given by his wife, Mecall. It was wonderful to catch up with everyone. Here are some pictures from the evening:

Restful Weekend

Our weekends have been jammed pack...this weekend we took it easy! Friday we decorated the tree. The tree was finished except for the tree topper. I thought it would be fun to include Thompson in the morning. Saturday morning we got up ate breakfast and started to finish decorating the tree. In a matter of seconds Thompson broke two ornaments and cut his foot. It was a disaster. William put the tree topper up and Thompson was crying because he wanted to be up with daddy and we wouldn't let him touch the tree anymore. After that Lacey came over to take me out for a "fun day" we went to the Marietta home tour, birthday shopping and lunch. It was very fun and nice to have the day with her. William took Thompson to the park and pushed him in the swing. Saturday evening we watched the Jackets defeat Clemson! It was a fun day!
Sunday, William's grandparents, parents, Aunts and Uncles were in town so they stopped by to see us. It was fun visiting with them at our place! We finished the day with Community Group.
Today is my birthday (26 years old) and William is taking me out to dinner and two movies (New Moon and The Blind Side). Thanks to my Aunt Lacey and Uncle Andy and Patch for watching Thompson tonight and tomorrow. We don't know what we would do without family.

Ear Tubes

Thompson had ear tubes put in on Friday morning. The surgery was at 8:15 but we had to be there at 6:45. He couldn’t eat or drink before so we had to distract him while we were waiting. Daddy went back when they put him to sleep. William said it was the longest 15 seconds of his life. They place a mask over Thompson to put him to sleep. He was screaming and then went still at that point William left. It took approximately 5 minutes and went back after 10 minutes. Dr. B checked his adenoids also which were fine.

When Thompson woke up from surgery he was very angry. He wanted the IV out of his hand and the blood pressure cuff off his arm. Mommy couldn’t soothe him nor could daddy. He was very upset. The nurse brought him some apple juice (he has never had it because he only drinks milk and water). He eats plenty of fruit so our pediatrician says he doesn’t have to have the extra sugar. Well…he loved apple Juice! He drank an entire three cups full. After surgery we had to get a steroid for his nose and antibiotic drops for his ears. I had many surgery’s growing up and my parents always gave me a special treat after…well Thompson ate his first Chick-Fil-A biscuit as his “special treat”. He did well and hasn’t been too cranky. However naps have been short if at all; I’m hoping long naps will resume this week.

Thank you to Dr. B and the entire staff at Atlanta ENT Pediatrics as well as the surgery center. They did a magnificent job and if anyone needs an ENT we highly recommend them. Thanks be to God who kept our baby safe!

Christmas Tree Shopping

Here are pictures from our Christmas Tree search at a local place in Smyrna. Thompson ran all around and enjoyed playing.  This was our first time buying a tree with Thompson. He enjoyed it very much!

Lucy's grandmother & Mecall's Mom (Honey) made Thompson and Lucy these matching Santa Shirts:

Also, William went to the Falcons game on Sunday with John McElrath and his future bro-in laws. John was in our wedding and now William is in his wedding. Jon and Stacey are getting married in two weeks!!!

A Thanksgiving Anniversary

This year our 4th wedding Anniversary fell on Thanksgiving Day. We decided to book a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico and stay at the Ritz Carlton. Thanks to the grandparents who watched Thompson. We had an amazing time resting, soaking up the sun, playing chess, reading, eating and just being us. A highlight was visiting the forts in Old San Juan; it was fascinating history. The trip was tons of fun and a relaxing celebration of four years. I love you, William.

Baby Cudnik

William's best friend from college, Jonathan and his wife, Beth Anne, are expecting a baby in early December. We went to Augusta last weekend to help host a baby shower for them. We took Thompson “trick or treating” in neighborhood close by and then watched the GT game and soaked up some good time with them. We can’t wait to see if their having a boy or a girl! Congrats!
