Georgia Mountains.

Wade and Gayle Monk (William's parents) bought a cabin in the Georgia Mountains. On Sunday, the family drove up to see it. They did a fabulous job renovating the cabin. William and Wade put cabinets and furniture together. Gayle and I organized the kitchen and hung the porch swing. We had a picnic lunch on the deck overlooking the incredible views. It was a lovely Sunday afternoon.

First Hair Cut

Thompson received his first hair cut at the Greystone Barber in Rome, GA. The same place his daddy got his first haircut and many of the ones to follow. His grandparents came to watch this monumental moment.

Party Planning

Last week our baby had his first illness; it led to an ear infection. TWM went for a check-up and his ear infection is now gone! Yay!
Thompson is having 2 parties for his 1st birthday. Why you may ask??? Well, mainly because our family can come Labor Day Weekend and most of Thompson's "friends" will be out of town. Also, I love to throw a party! ;) The theme is: All Things 1. Invitations will be going out soon.

The Party Dates Are:
Sunday, September 6th 4pm-7pm for BBQ, Cake and Ice cream
(We are asking all family to come to this one)

Or

Sunday, September 20th 3pm-5pm for Cake and Ice cream

My Brother's, Mom, Jessie, and Caroline came for a visit on their way back from the beach. We met at Hoppop's house and then went to the Chick-Fil-A dwarf house.

long time no blog

Hi all- it’s been awhile since my last post. We have been busy organizing the house and settling into William's new rotation with GE. He is enjoying it immensely but has to work more hours.
Thompson is pulling up on everything but hasn't taken those "first steps" yet. We began teaching him sign language to help ease communication difficulties. So far, it’s just us signing to him. On the food front…. He is eating more "big people" food. Chicken and beef are the current favorites. This morning he had pancakes and they come in a close third.
10 months has passed since he entered our world and God uses him daily to show us how blessed we are. Thompson had his first cold this week but I had help from my mother-in-law. Our family is so generous with their time.

William and I at the St. Regis in Buckhead. He had a business function.

Destin

We ended June with a trip to Destin. My family has been going there for years. The Pearsons joined us for the weekend with their daughter, Lucy.
Thompson was everywhere...eating sand and diving face first into the pool. He loves the water & cries when he has to get out.
The trip made me thankful that my parents took us to the beach. The work that goes into packing and planning for just one child is great and I can’t imagine doing it for four kids. Thanks mom & dad! We are very thankful that Hoppop let us use his condo again!

We've Moved!

We have moved four times in less than four years. It has been crazy, fun, exciting and everything in-between. However, we plan to stay in our new townhome for a while. It’s a 4 bedroom with 3.5 baths so we have plenty of growing room. Thompson is enjoying the space to explore and crawl. Right now, he is trying to stand up without holding onto anything and when crawling carry as much as possible. Our friends and family helped out by moving furniture and even taking Thompson overnight. Thank you so much! William received a grill as his early Father’s Day gift. A BBQ is in the works. I will post more pictures of the house soon. Happy Father’s Day!
