Destin with Friends

Destin, FL has been my family’s vacation spot for around 18 years. I went there as a little girl and now have the joy of seeing my son and husband enjoying it. Watching the waves and the sunsets (I’m not up early enough for sunrises) reveals Jesus' creation. I love it. We are even more blessed to have a condo that my granddad lets us use. We spent a week there and Thompson had a blast. I unfortunately came down with a summer cold which turned into ear infection and sinus infection so I wasn’t exactly at my best health. We still had fun.
I was surprised to find out the Cascio’s were in Destin for the week. Kristi used to come with my family every summer. Their family means the world to us and they are Thompson’s Godparents. Thompson had a blast with Sadie and Lilly. We love yall! Julia and B Jones came and spent the week with us (Ryan came for the weekend) and William joined us for a long weekend. The McCaleb’s came up and spent an afternoon and evening with us. We had a friend jammed week and it couldn’t have been sweeter!

McCalebs & Pearsons Memories

The McCalebs, our friends from WA, came to stay with us last week. We had a great time touring the Aquarium, eating lunch at the Varsity, and letting our precious boys, Mattox and Thompson play together. This was the first time our boys had met. Mattox was the first little baby William ever held. So, they are very dear to us and we just love them. I didn’t get many pictures because we were so busy catching up but here are a few.

Lucy had her 2 year old birthday at KangaZoom. Thompson had a blast and daddy had so much fun too. They were running and jumping everywhere. Her party theme was “Minnie Mouse.”

Random Fun

My cousins, Sara and Matt, came to visit for a weekend in July.  William was out of town on navy duty in VA so it was fun to have an extra set of hands to play with Thompson. We went to the pool, Steak and Shake and then to Mall of GA to have dinner with their folks. I had a blast playing clue with them and just soaking up some time with these two precious angels.

Water Fountain kids can play in (forgot Thompsons suit so he ran around in clothes)

This past weekend was "slow" for us. We went to visit our friends the Heath's whose son, Henry Phillip, was born 2+ months early. Lesley is now home and Henry is a good fighter and doing well in the NICU.
Saturday we worked out at the YMCA then took Thompson swimming. We just purchased this for him and it has changed the way he swims. We highly recommend it! In the evening, we headed downtown for a friend’s birthday party and brought Thompson a long. We tried to put him down in the pack and play but he wasn't having it so we left a bit early but had some great food and fun. Sunday, we had church and then community group!

Monk Family Mt. Weekend

We went up to the Monk's cabin this past weekend and hiked. Thompson wanted to get out of the backpack and hike all by himself. However, he lost one of his Crocs along our hike. Thompson played on the playground barefoot. We ate at Canyon Grill on Saturday night and the food was fantastic.
Sunday, Thompson woke us up early and we headed back to Smyrna. William has been traveling non-stop for the past few weeks and he had to leave again on Sunday. He is working extremely hard and hasn't had much of a break! Thompson and I are so blessed to have such a hard-working and fun husband/daddy! We love you!

The Weekend of July 4th

July 4th is a special holiday for two reasons. One, it is the birthday of our beloved country! Two, it is our dating anniversary. We're not really into celebrating dating anniversary's…but it’s an easy date to remember. We’ve been together for six years! Woohoo!
Friday, William and I went to see Eclipse; It lived up to the hype. Then, we headed out to the Heath’s lovely new home and grabed dinner with them.
Mary Beth drove up on Saturday and we headed to the Crawford’s house for July 3rd fireworks show in Peachtree city. Thompson had fun swimming in their pool. They had tons of food and it was fun to spend time with them. Auntie swam with Thompson and he had a ball.
William ran the Peachtree road race on July 4th and then we headed to Hoppop's for a BBQ! Thompson swam in the pool with his cousins Patrick, Matt and Sara. T-Lo came down and surprised everyone! Thompson was thrilled to see her! After dinner, we headed to the Varsity to watch fireworks. It was a fun family memory.

The Queen City

On Father's day, Thompson and I rode up with Gayle (who was traveling to see Mary Beth) to Charlotte. Mimi and Hoppop (my Grandparents) came down to see their only great-grandchild and only granddaughter (lol)! We had tons of fun spending time with my family and friends. My grandmother took me shopping which is always fun...although she used to come out of the mall spending $50 but clothes prices have gone up or maybe because my style has changed from Limited Too to Nordstrom’s?? Either way, we come back and Hoppop pretends to be mad about what we spent. Love you Hoppop and Mimi! McCord got some great clothes from the mall too! Mom, spent time with Thompson and I at the pool and McCord gave him a swim lesson! We ate great meals and had fun bonding! Miss them already!

Where did June go?

We've been without internet and cable for weeks! We cancelled Charter because of their lack of service and now we are going to try out AT&T UVerse but they can't get here until next week. It's been a good thing because we have finally gotten around to decoration our home. Yes, we moved in a year ago but Lacey loaned us some of her furniture so it prolonged us actually buying our own. Anyway, our home now has new couch cover $25.00 from Tuesday Morning! Also, two rugs, bath hardware and fresh towels (pure bliss). I love love discount shopping...I enjoy the hunt and thrill of finding a good deal. My favorites are: Tuesday Morning, TJMAXX & Marshalls.
Another postive for being without internet for a bit is that I’ve become a big supporter of my library…trying to not purchase books unless I have too or just want it for my personal collection. Thompson has enjoyed going to the reading and music programs the library has to offer. So far on my Summer Reading: I’ve enjoyed Laura Bush biography, Spoken from the Heart. Francine Rivers Book’s: Her Mother’s Hope, Scarlet Thread, and A Lineage of Grace. Elizabeth Gilbert: Eat Pray Love. I’m currently reading the Kate Jacobs’ Friday Night Knitting Club on loan to me from the Mary Beth Library!
That’s pretty much the update on our home. I’ll post more from our June travels soon!
